I walked into a store while I was in Portugal and fell in love with the story of viana beads. It signifies independence, security and worth. The young women from Viana do Castelo had the ambition to own a necklace full of Viana’s ‘Conta’ at a time, with the money they earned from selling eggs and chickens.
